Tiger’s go on the road and find a victory against the Randall University Saints.
After a tough loss Thursday, the Tigers went on the road to Moore, Oklahoma and battled against the Randall Saints, who was coming off solid 2 wins. The Tigers showed that they learned from mistakes and dominated the entire game. In the first half, the Tigers got on the board by Hilario who played a ball into the box to Matias. Matias laid it off to Andres. Andres shot was blocked by a defender, and the rebound went to Benjamin who scored to the far post.
The Tigers never looked back as they didn’t let the Saints on the scoreboard and they added a second goal in the second half by a corner kick by Andres Silva, and Matias finished it off to put the Tigers up 2-0.
Coach Hoxie was pleased with the performance and had this to say about the game, “Feels good to get a win down here. This is a different Randall team than from previous years. These guys have size, speed, and are technical on the ball. We knew it was going to be a dog fight coming down here to play on the small field, but these guys definitely take it to another level at home. Their set pieces are very dangerous, and they are good at them. However, our mentality was strong, and the players really worked for their rewards.”
“Our back line played great. We were organized, engaged, and solid at every ball that got whacked our way. Also, congratulations to Tanner Rose on giving us great minutes when Sebastian went down. He was excellent at commanding the box and was ferocious in the air.”
“Good win. Now it is time to transition to MCC on Tuesday. We’ve got some guys who took some hits and need to get them some recovery sessions. We’ll be ready.”
With the victory the Tigers are now 1-1 on the season and look to prepare for Manhattan Christian on Tuesday, September 3.
