LITTLE RIVER – It was a good day for the Little River High volleyball teams as both the varsity and junior varsity made it a clean sweep of Ellsworth at home in Little River on Thursday.
In the varsity matchup it was the best of five sets and Ellsworth did only pushed the Redskins by not losing a single set by less than four points as Little River clean swept them 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.
The Redskin junior varsity had a bit more of a battle as they had to win the best of three and Ellsworth managed to take the first set 17-25 before the Little River JV’s turned it around an nipped the visitors in both the final two sets 25-22, 16-14.
“Little River played a solid night of volleyball,” declared Redskin Head Coach Kim Rolfs in her post-match reflections. “The kids responded well at times to the adjustments made against a tough Ellsworth hitter. Our kids are really playing well during moments and working in practice to better themselves on our weaknesses which is just making us a better team right now.”
Next up for the Little River spikers will be a quad on Tuesday, September 24.
