LITTLE RIVER – It was a big day for the Little River volleyball team as they took down not one, but two teams from their league at home on Tuesday when they beat both Solomon and Canton/Galva in a quad that included Peabody/Burns. The match was extra important as it was also Senior Night.
The LadySkins rolled over Solomon in their first match, taking them down with relative ease in straight sets (25-9, 25-12) before having more of a battle in their second match with Canton/Galva, whom they ended up beating in straight sets also but by a much closer set of scores (25-14, 25-20).
“It was a great night for our eight seniors as we took down two league schools’ tonight,” noted LadySkin Head Coach Kim Rolfs. “I’m glad we were able to put together enough plays to win both matches tonight for our seniors. This group has been an awesome group to coach! This is my third year with them and what great leaders they have become. Great kids and even better teammates.”
With an upcoming Saturday date to play in Lyons at the Lyons Invitational, Coach Rolfs concluded her post-match reflections by saying, “We will need to bring our A game this weekend as we head to the Lyons tournament. No cupcakes in this tournament so we will have to play well to get out of pool play, but we need to learn how to play at a higher level if we want to go far in the playoffs.”
