CANTON – It became a late evening, but it was a successful one for the Canton/Galva volleyball team as they hosted a triangular on Thursday with Burrton and Elyria Christian and scored wins over both.
Despite winning in straight sets to start out the evening, Canton/Galva had to battle hard with Burrton as both wins came with a total of four points of difference total in the end at 26-24, 26-24.
It did not get any easier when the Lady Eagles went up against the other Lady Eagles of Elyria Christian as they also took Canton/Galva to the battlefield with Canton/Galva winning in the end in straight sets once again (25-21, 25-16).
“It was a late night for the Lady Eagles at home,” noted Canton/Galva Head Coach Cloe Hedlund. “But they pulled off a couple of good wins. We played Burrton and Elyria Christian tonight, and there was some great volleyball played by all teams. Lots of hustle and passion displayed on the court. We continue to work on consistency on our side of the court, working to set up our offense every time we have the ball. At many times tonight we played consistent and hopefully we can continue to make that an all match thing.”
The Canton/Galva spikers will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Herington for the Herington Tournament.
