It was a complete domination by the McPherson boy’s soccer team on Tuesday at home in the confines of McPherson College Stadium as they shut down and shutout El Dorado 12-0.
While all 12 scores came in the first half, the scoring for the Bullpups was provided by seven different Bullpups with five scoring twice.
The game was highlighted by an outstanding performance by Jael Jaime who scored two goals and earned credit for the assist on three others. Other Bullpups scoring twice were Drew Schrader, Connor Olson, Rhett Edmonson and Samy Jaime, with Britton Haigh and Gavin Henry knocking in the two goals.
With 11 of the 12 scores coming with an assist, and Jael Jaime credited with three of those, the other eight came on a pair by Schrader and one each contributed by Cody Achilles, Caden Hardgrave, Tyler Hoxie, Samy Jaime, Tyler Bontrager and Michael Martin.
For the game, Bullpup goalkeeper, Conner Glazner, made no saves as the McPherson offense kept El Dorado defense to busy for their offense to get any work. On the other hand, the Bullpups rattled the Wildcat goalie for a total of 25 shots on the shortened game.
“I was pleased with how the team came out and played at a high level,” declared Bullpup Head Coach Chris Adrian. “The boys scored a lot of great goals and did a nice job passing the ball as evidenced by 11 of the 12 goals being assisted. The El Dorado’s goalkeeper had a great game and made some really nice saves, otherwise the score could have been worse.”
Coach Adrian concluded his brief post-match reflections by adding, “It was a balanced attack tonight as several players got in on the scoring, plus it was a good game to rest some legs and build confidence going into Thursday’s key match against Buhler.”
Due to the possibility of inclement weather the junior varsity soccer game with Andover was cancelled.
Now 8-2 for the season, next time the Bullpups will get on the field will be on Thursday when they travel to Buhler.
