It seemed like the game was over at the opening kick as the McPherson High boys soccer team literally buried visiting Circle in a 10-0 shutout victory on Tuesday at McPherson College Stadium.

When Samy Jaime scored the first Bullpup goal of the game off an assist from Jael Jaime, it began an avalanche of scoring as McPherson buried a total of five scores into the back of the Circle net in a 10 minute period of the first half.

Cody Achilles earned the second goal of the game off an assist from Tyler Hoxie before Jael Jaime knocked in the next two with assists from Drew Schrader and Achilles. Caden Hardgrave scored the fifth goal of the game for the Bullpups off another assist from Achilles while Tyler Hoxie and Drew Schrader scored consecutive unassisted goals. Trenton Steckein got in on the scoring before Achilles dropped his second goal of the game into the net. Schrader and Jael Jaime assisted on the goals as McPherson went into the halftime break leading 9-0.

The Bullpups added one more goal in the second half with Britton Haigh getting the score off another assist from Cody Achilles.

While Nathan Lloyd only needed to make one save in goal for the Bullpups, the Circle goalkeeper was kept busy as they made 10 saves beyond the goals they missed.

It was much the same for the Bullpup junior varsity as they scored an 11-0 victory over Circle, with Jovanny Ontiveros getting a hat trick with three goals while Gavinn Henry and Drew Wilson each had two, with Wilson also earning credit for one assist. Other scoring for the junior varsity were Juan Matias, Conner Olson and Kadyn McVicker while Olson also made three assists and Josh Everhart, Adolfo Ontiveros, Michael Martin and McVicker each had one.

Next for the Bullpup soccer team will be to host Winfield next Tuesday at McPherson College Stadium.
