Central Christian College of Kansas made history on Saturday when their first-year E-Sports team competed in their very first tournament.
The Tiger E-Sports team competed in the North American Collegiate (NACL) Tournament for the Game League of Legends (LOL).
Representing Central Christian College was Benjamin Caron, Frankie Hernandez, Austin Draper, Joseph Cox, and Luke Ingram. The Tiger team works under the guidance of Coach Lizzie Caron.
After spending much of Saturday practicing ahead of the tournament, all five members of the Tiger E-Sports team, as well as NACL, streamed the tournament live on twitch. Twitch is a streaming service designed for video games.
Central Christian played Butler Premier in the ninth game of the tournament.
Despite working hard as a team, Butler Premier took the victory and moved on to the next round of the tournament.
The Central Christian E-Sports team took several positives away from the experience and will be doubling down on practice while preparing for another tournament at the end of October.
