LITTLE RIVER – Since week one, the Little River football team has been on a roll and Friday was no different as they played host at home to Macksville and shut down while shutting out the visitors for a 48-0 victory.

The win brings the Redskins season mark to 5-1 as they have not lost since the first weekend debacle with Canton/Galva. Little River has now shutout three of their last five opponents and the Redskin defense has allowed just 14 points in the other two games combined.

On Friday, it was the Graham Stephens and Jayden Garrison show as they combined for all seven of the Redskin touchdowns with Stephens scoring three on runs of 7, 13 and 69 yards while Garrison had scoring scampers of 5, 36 and 3 yards while also returning the opening second-half kickoff 71 yards for yet another score.

Stephens only threw two passes in the game and completed one for 62 yards to Garrison, while also leading the Redskins in rushing with 129 yards on just 9 carries. Garrison covered 62 yards on 10 totes of the pigskin.

Defensively, it was Garrison and Evan Johanning leading the way with four tackles each.

Overall, both Macksville and Little River recorded seven first downs, but the Redskin defense held the visitors to just 123 yards on 49 offensive plays while rolling up 254 yards for the home team on only 25 plays.

Now 5-1 for the season, Little River will be on the road next Friday at St. John who is not only 0-6 for the season but played Friday at Moundridge with just nine players suited up during their 56-0 loss to the Wildcats.
