McPHERSON – The McPherson High boys soccer team made quick work of visiting Winfield on Tuesday by scoring a 10-0 shutout victory.

Britton Haigh led the Bullpups in scoring with a double hat trick as he scored all three of his goals in the second half while getting two of his three assists in the first half.

Samy Jaime also scored two goals while Jael Jaime, Trenton Stecklein, Caden Hardgrave, Cody Achilles and Logan Ediger each hit the back of the net for one. Achilles also contributed three assists, with Tyler Hoxie and Rhett Edmonson getting one each.

While the Bullpups goalkeeper, Nathan Lloyd, had little to do with no saves on the match, the Bullpups hammered away at Winfield for a total of 26 shots on goal during the game.

The Bullpup junior varsity also scored an easy 6-0 shutout victory over Winfield as Jovanny Ontiveros scored two goals and Tyler Bontrager, Adolfo Ontiveros, Reid Schuckman plus Felix Thomas each had one. Schuckman, Gavinn Henry, Drew Wilson and Michael Santillan all contributed an assist.

It will be just one day of rest for the Bullpup kickers as they return to competitive action on Thursday when they play host to Hutchinson.
