JUNIOR EAGLES CLOSE SEASON UNDEFEATED at 7-0!!

CANTON – The Canton/Galva junior high football team kept step with their senior high team as they blasted Little River, 64-16, to close out their 2019 season at home on Thursday and finish the season undefeated AT 7-0!

The victory over Little River was the 28th in a row for the Junior Eagles.

With the victory the Junior Eagles finish the season tied atop the Wheat State League standing with Solomon who also finished 7-0. The two teams did not do battle on the field this season.

The new Eagle football pipeline appears to continue as this is the fourth consecutive season that the Junior Eagles have landed at the top in the League standings.

Lane McMannis proved to be unstoppable for the Little River defense as scored five touchdowns including three by running, one on a pass reception from Jordan Duncan and a kickoff return. Duncan scored one rushing touchdown while throwing a total of four scoring passes, with the one to McMannis, one to Brayden O’Hara and two to Jaden Ediger.

McMannis was also the Junior Eagles leader on defense with 9.5 tackles as well as a pass interception and recovering three fumbles.

JUNIOR EAGLE INDIVIDUAL STATS:

JUNIOR EAGLE OFFENSE:

Lane McMannis scored 5 touchdowns – 3 rushing, 1 on a pass reception and 1 on a kickoff return.

Jordan Duncan scored 1 rushing touchdown, threw for four scores and converted 5 extra-point conversions.

Jaden Ediger scored on 2 pass receptions.

Brayden O’Hara scored on 1 pass reception.

JUNIOR EGLE DEFENSE:

Lane McMannis recorded 9.5 tackles, had 1 interception and recovered 3 fumbles.

Jaden Ediger recorded 7.5 tackles.

Jordan Duncan recorded 7 tackles.

Isom Marston recorded 7 tackles.
