  1. JOHN – The Little River football team continues to roll over everybody in their way as they traveled to St. John on Friday and buried the home team 60-0.

Since the Redskins stumbled in the first two weeks of the season with an embarrassing loss to current number one ranked Canton/Galva and a tie in week two with Peabody/Burns, they have now rolled over five straight opponents to the tune of 265-16!

On Friday, they jumped on St. John for 31 first quarter points as Jayden Garrison ran into the end zone twice from 15 and 20 yards out, while Graham Stephens rolled in for a score from 16 yards and then Braxton Lafferty took an interception back to the house.

While Little River struggled to get back on the scoreboard in the second quarter, they did get a 64-yard scamper for a score from Braxton Lafferty and a 33-yard field goal from Graham Stephens to take a 40-0 advantage into the halftime break.

Little River added scoring runs of 65 yards from Lafferty, a four-yard scoot from Rylan Konen and a Corbin Herbst nine-yard scamper in the third quarter to earn their 60-0 shutout victory.

Overall, the Redskins dominated the stat sheet as they rolled up 260 yards and 10 first downs in total offense on just 24 plays while the Little River defense held St. John to a measly 50 yards and two first downs despite running 46 plays on offense. Little River held St. John to just 32 yards rushing on 28 carries while they covered 242 yards on 22 totes while running for all seven touchdowns.

Lafferty led the Redskin offense by gaining a whopping 139 yards on just five carries while Jayden Garrison gained 49 yards on three carries and Stephens added another 26 on his three. Stephens completed his only pass of the game and that covered 18 yards to Keaton Richardson.

Leading the shutdown defense was Stephens who recorded six tackles, though Ty Herzog may have had the best line of the game for the Redskin defense with one recorded tackle that was good for a quarterback sack and a loss of yardage.

Now on that five-game win streak and sitting at 5-1-1 for the season, Little River closes out the regular season next Friday by hosting Moundridge. The Wildcats will come into the game sitting at 4-3 for the season and having dismantled Central Plains 56-0 on Friday evening.
