SEDGWICK FLIES PAST INMAN!

INMAN – The Inman football team made it good for one quarter before the heavy air attack of unbeaten Sedgwick took control and flew past the Teutons for a 42-7 victory as both teams closed out their 2019 regular season schedule on Friday.

Inman even took a 7-0 advantage into the early stages of the second quarter after Carter Brown powered in from one yard out in the first quarter. But once the air attack for Sedgwick hit for a 70 yard scoring pass the flood gates opened and the game was all Sedgwick.

The Cardinals put three scores on the board before halftime and then added two more in the third and one in the final stanza to earn the 42-7 win.

While the Teuton offense seemed to struggle, picking up just 116 yards on 49 plays, they did stay balanced as 59 of the yards came through the air and the remaining 57 were covered by running the ball.

It was a tough night for the Teuton defense, especially the back seven as the Cardinals connected on 20-of-26 passes for a whopping 330 yards and two scores while rolling for another 136 yards on the ground on 33 rushes and the other four scores.

With the loss, the Teutons close out their regular season at dead even, 4-4. They now prep for the first round of the state playoffs when they play host on Friday to Johnson/Stanton County who will come into the game at just 1-7 for the year.
