MCPHERSON – The McPherson High football team combined their freshman and junior varsity teams on Monday as they closed out their 2019 seasons by hosting Circle and earning a 34-6 victory.

The Pups scored in every quarter, including twice in the first quarter on two scoring runs by freshman Jaytin Gumm from 19 and 12 yards out. Freshman quarterback Hunter Alvord connected with sophomore Collin Pearson for one of the two-point conversions, the second conversion failed.

Sophomore Anthony Brooks dove in from one-yard out for a Bullpup score in the second quarter, with Brooks also getting the two-point conversion.

Alvord added a one-yard quarterback keeper for a score in the third quarter while freshman Gavin Roth scored in the fourth on a two-yard plunge. Neither of the final touchdowns had successful two-point conversions.
