To top Eagle to earn a medal was sophomore Morgan Becker, running in his second consecutive state meet, ran a spectacular 17:35.19 for the 5K run which was good enough to place eighth among 110 runners. It was a 17-place improvement from Becker’s freshman run at state where he finished 25th.

The Eagles other strong sophomore runner, Christian Darrah, also earned a medal as well as a top-ten finish when he ran a 17:34.43 and placed tenth in his first opportunity to run at a state meet.

Henry Nelson of Bishop Seaburg won the Class 2A boys title with a run of 16:36.09.

Eagle Head Coach Lyle Silsby had this to reflect on after the state meet when he said, “Both of the boys ran really good races, and it was a great way for them to end their sophomore year cross country season. I am really proud of the way those two kids competed and like them, I am ready to see what next season has in store for them.”
