For the Lady Vikings, sophomore Gracie Lambert ran 15th with a time of 20:51.7 to also earn a state medal. Jentrie Alderson of SE of Saline won the girls division with a run of 18:50.3.

“Gracie (Lambert) and Ryan (Heline) had successful days in Lawrence at the state cross country meet,” noted Viking Head Coach Holly Toll. “They both ran with grit and earned a spot on the medal stand. Gracie ran to a 15th place finish while Ryan earned a 6th place finish. We ended the season with two individual state medalists which I am thrilled with. Gracie’s run was 10 seconds off her personal record on this hilly course and Ryan finished his season with a personal best time! That’s just icing on the cake! I am not only proud of these two, but my entire team this season!”
