MCMANNIS NAMED ALL-AROUND COWGIRL!

CANTON – During an awards banquet on Saturday, November 9 for the Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association, Faith McMannis of Canton was one of several McPherson county youth who were honored with Faith being awarded first place for being TOP ALL-AROUND COWGIRL for 2nd-4th grade girls!

Not only did Faith earn all-around cowgirl, she dominated her division by taking championships several other competitions including Pole Bending, Breakaway Sled Roping and Goat Tying.

Lane McMannis, also from Canton, was a second-place All-Around Cowboy for 5th-8th grade boys while earning a Champion award for Breakaway Calf Roping, Tie Down Calf Roping, Goat Tying, Heeling, and Ribbon Roping along with partner Braelyn Graber of Newton.

Other local youth earning championship awards were Liam Krehbiel of McPherson for Sheep Riding in the 0-1st grade boys division, Kinsey Harold of Marquette for 2nd-4th grade girls Barrel Racing, and Sage Toews of Canton for Goat Tying in the 5th-8th grade girls division.

During the summer months, the Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association hosts youth rodeos in Canton with several McPherson County youth being members of the association. Besides Faith McMannis, eight other local youth earned awards for their rodeo handiwork.

> Liam Krehbiel of McPherson was named 0-1st grade boys Champion in Sheep Riding.

> Kaylor Rouse of Galva earned 3rd place All-Around Cowboy for 0-1st grade boys.
>  Jovey Henry of Canton earned 3rd place All-Around Cowgirl for 0-1st grade girls.
>  Wesley Prieb of Canton earned 3rd place All-Around Cowboy for 2nd-4th grade boys.
>  Faith McMannis of Canton won 1st place All-Around Cowgirl for 2nd-4th grade girls while winning Pole Bending, Breakaway Sled Roping, and Goat Tying.
 > Kinsey Harold of Marquette earned 3rd place All-Around Cowgirl for 2nd-4th grade girls while earning a championship in the Barrel Racing.
 > Lane McMannis of Canton earned 2nd place All-Around Cowboy for 5th-8th grade boys while being champion in Breakaway Calf Roping, Tie Down Calf Roping, Goat Tying, Heeling, and Ribbon Roping (with partner Braelyn Graber of Newton).
 > Sage Toews of Canton was Champion in the 5th-8th grade girls Goat Tying.
 > Aaron Handlin of McPherson earned 2nd place All-Around Cowboy for 9th-12th grade boys.
