MMS GRAPPLERS SWEEP HUTCHINSON, NEWTON-CHISHOLM!

HUTCHINSON – Maybe a bit too close for comfort, but on the scoreboard the McPherson Middle School wrestlers earned a sweep on the road in Hutchinson on Tuesday over Hutchinson and Newton Chisholm.

Neither game gave the Junior Pup wrestlers a victory by more than five points as the Junior Pup defeated Newton Chisholm 52-48 and then pinned Hutchinson 51-46.

The Junior Pup varsity scored eight perfect days on the mat from Jayce Shriner, Hayden Farley, Jase Fitzmorris, Christian Clemmons, Landon Thompson, Brock Richardson, Eli Clarke and Ty Nance.

Four Junior Pups went unbeaten in two matches for the junior varsity, with those being Kaden Harold, Joey Miller, Jordyn Hancock, and Kaven Byrd while Eli Farley, Kale French and Chase Garibaldi scored wins in their only matches of the day.

Next up for the Junior Pup wrestlers will be a road trip Saturday to wrestle at the Clay Center Tournament.
