ONE OF TEN BEING HONORED!

MCPHERSON – On Friday, December 6, between the McPherson High boys and girls basketball games with Andover, there will be the induction and recognition of 10 new members of the Bullpup Wall of Fame!!

After the basketball games are over, the public is invited to a reception in the commons at McPherson High School for the inductees and their guests.

TODAY WE HONOR ONE OF THE INDUCTEES – DREW MOFFITT!!

Moffitt is being inducted into the Bullpup Wall of Fame for his exploits on the baseball diamond as well as work on the basketball court. Moffitt was twice named all-state and all-league in baseball before going on to playing a starring role for the Wichita State University baseball program. He was also named Kansas Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year as a senior in high school.

A full list of Drew Moffitt’s awards and accolades are as follows:

In 1999-2000:

  • Named as the Kansas Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year.
  • Named to the KABC Class 5A 1st Team All-State Baseball Team.
  • Named to the Ark Valley League 1st Team All-League Baseball Team.
  • Named Honorable Mention to the Class 5A All-State Basketball Team.
  • Named to the Ark Valley League 2nd Team All-League Basketball Team.

In 1998-99:

  • Named to the KABC Class 5A 1st Team All-State Baseball Team.
  • Named to the Ark Valley League 1st Team All-League Baseball Team.
  • Named to the Class 5A 2nd Team All-State Basketball Team.
  • Named to the Ark Valley League 2nd Team All-League Basketball Team.
  • Member of the 1999 Class 5A State Champion Basketball Team.

While at Wichita State University:

  • In 2002 was named to Missouri Valley Conference 1st Team for baseball.
  • In 2003 was named to Missouri Valley Conference 1st Team for baseball.
  • In 2004 was named to Missouri Valley Conference 1st Team for baseball.
  • In 2004 was Collegiate Home Run Leader with 26 home runs.
  • Was picked as a member of the Missouri Valley All-Century Baseball Team.
  • Was drafted in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
  • Was drafted in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft by the Baltimore Orioles.

Tom Young for his time as Bullpup Head Football Coach from 2006-2014.

Plus recognition to Willie Johnson for his 15 years of service on the McPherson High School Wall of Fame Committee.
