INMAN – The Inman Junior High girls basketball team head into the Thanksgiving break after a close, hard fought 26-21 loss to Berean Academy at home on Monday.
According to Junior Lady Teuton Head Coach, “We were always one step behind Berean Academy. Every time the Lady Warriors would go on a run, we would battle back.”
The Junior Lady Teutons were only down by one point, 14-13, when the two teams hit the halftime break, but Berean Academy outscored Inman 6-2 in the third quarter to extend their lead to five going into the final quarter.
Despite a fierce run to close the lead to just one at 22-21 with only two minutes to go in the game, the Junior Lady Teutons could not overcome that final point with the Lady Warriors closing the game on a 4-0 run.
Taelyn Friesen led the Junior Lady Teutons in scoring with six points, while Kendal Brueggan scored five.
Both the Junior Lady Teutons ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams also lost to the Lady Warriors.
The Junior Lady Teutons will now have 10 days off due to the Thanksgiving break. They will return to the hardwood on Thursday, December 5 when they go on the road to Marion.
