MCPHERSON – Even though no team scores were being kept, it is a good bet that the McPherson High junior varsity boys wrestling team dominated their own Invitational on Saturday as more than half of the Bullpups that went to the mat scored gold medals for the day.

Eight Bullpups earned first-place honors for their work including Colton Rausch at 106, Brock Burgess at 113, Nate Rogers at 160, Curtis Landrum at 182, Gavin Jones at 182 B, Ryder Peterson at 195, Lane Thompson at 220 and Tristan Castillo at 285. All but Landrum took their gold while winning every match and five of those won all their matches by a fall.

Five the remaining seven wrestlers finished with second-place medals.

Next up for the Junior Varsity Bullpup grapplers will come on Thursday when they host a double dual with Chapman and Smoky Valley.
