LYONS – It was a rough road trip on Monday for the Smoky Valley Middle School boys’ basketball teams as they dropped all three games with Lyons.

In the Junior Vikings 8th grade game, Lyons out scored Smoky Valley by 20-points on their way to a commanding 39-19 victory.

The 7th grade Junior Vikings kept their game closer on the scoreboard, but still ended up losing by nine, 25-16.

In the Junior Viking ‘C’ team battle, it was very low scoring with Smoky Valley losing by three, 14-11.

“One thing we are working on is being able to run an offense,” noted Head Coach Mike Hulse in his post-game reflections. “That way we can get easier shots, have people in position to rebound as well as being able to get the defense to move and be out of position. We are also learning how to attack defenses and improving our basic fundamentals and knowledge of the game itself. We are working to sustain playing hard for a full game at all times.”

UP NEXT FOR THE JUNIOR VIKING BASKETBALL TEAMS?

Next up for the Smoky Valley Junior Viking teams will be on Thursday, December 12, when they will play host to Pratt-Liberty.
