MCPHERSON COUNTY – It is now less than two week until Christmas Day and the communities of McPherson County are well into the Christmas SPIRIT.

Christmas -

Here we bring you an upcoming weekend in LINDSBORG – WHERE THEY CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS THE SWEDISH WAY!!

The community of Lindsborg will have two holiday events going on this Saturday, December 14.

The day begins with the SAINT LUCIA FESTIVAL – a favorite Swedish holiday tradition celebrating the figure that is the emblem of light on a long winter day.

At the end of the day you will find an OLD-FASHIONED CHRISTMAS at the OLD MILL MUSEUM where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of an old-fashioned prairie Christmas.

A breakdown of the two events:

A favorite Swedish holiday tradition observed in Lindsborg where they celebrate the figure that is the emblem of light on a long winter day.

The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with a LIVE HOLIDAY MUSIC downtown.

Folk dancers, live Scandinavian music, and a processional of girls in white carrying candles and stjarngosse (star boys) lead the crowd to the Bethany Lutheran Church where the annual St. Lucia is honored with a crown of candles.
