MCPHERSON – The McPherson Middle School seventh-grade girls basketball teams closed out their pre-holiday break schedule with a clean sweep of two games at home on Thursday from Newton.

7TH GRADE JUNIOR LADY PUPS NIP NEWTON BY TWO

In a tight, close game throughout, the seventh-grade Junior Lady Pups ‘A’ team scored a two-point, 26-24, victory over Newton.

Cora Pavlovich led the ‘A’ team offense by reaching double digits in the scorebook with 11 while Ellie Bower chipped in with seven.

“The girls have worked hard in practice to make improvements on some things,” noted Junior Lady Pup Head Coach Melissa Wade in her post-game reflections. “That showed in the games tonight. They came prepared and pushed themselves. We asked them to be strong with the ball and to pass only when someone was opened to receive. They did just that.”
