MCMANNIS, EDIGER TOP SCORING!
HOPE – Remember how the Canton/Galva high school football team would run away and hide after the opening kickoff because they dismantled so many teams, well now the Canton/Galva Junior High boys basketball team seems to have the same idea as they went on the road Thursday and literally blasted host Rural Vista off the court with a dismantling 69-9 victory in the ‘A’ game.
With the victory, the Junior Eagles ‘A’ team remains unbeaten on the season at 7-0.
The game was over with shortly after the opening tip as Canton/Galva ran out to a 24-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and continued scoring as they wanted while totally shutting down the Rural Vista offense in the second quarter to take a whopping 47-2 advantage into the halftime break. After adding another 20 points in the third quarter the Junior Eagles cruised on in for the 60-point, 69-9 win.
Four Junior Eagles hit for double digits in the game, led by Lane McMannis who scored 20, Jaden Ediger put 18 points in the scorebook thanks to hitting on four three-pointers, while Kaiden Wilson and Wyatt Collins chipped in for 11 and 10 points respectively.
It was a much closer ball game for the Junior Eagles ‘B’ team as they scrapped by with a one-point, 33-32 victory, led by Noah Collins with 14 points.
In a half game played, the Junior Eagles ‘C’ team lost 11-7.
