MARTISKO, RANEY TOP SCORING!
INMAN – After jumping out to midgame advantage, the Inman girls basketball team held off a late game surge by visiting Bennington to earn a four-point, 35-31, home court victory on Tuesday.
The two teams battled close early as the Lady Teutons held a slim 9-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a three-point, 19-16 lead heading into the halftime break.
Inman shutdown the Bennington offense in the third quarter and held them to a measly two points while the Lady Teutons put 10 on the board to take a seemingly comfortable 11-point, 29-18 lead heading into the final eight minutes of play.
In the final quarter of action, Bennington cooled off the Lady Teuton offense by holding them to just six points while they put 13 in the scorebook, giving Inman a late game scare but a relief of a four-point victory.
Leading the Lady Teuton offense was Hannah Martisko and Dantilie Raney who both put double digits by their name in the scorebook with 12 and 11 points respectively.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE INMAN LADY TEUTONS?
The victory puts the Lady Teutons at 5-3 for the season and two games over .500 as they prep for a huge cross-county rivalry game on Friday at Moundridge.
