SAY THANK YOU TO YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL COUNSELORS!

By William

If they are doing their jobs correctly, many will not be very well known except to those who have directly benefited from their help.

But for many, a school counselor can be anything from a mentor, to a listener, to an information gathering and most of all a friend to help when needed.

NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK is this week from February 3 to February 7.

The theme for the 2020 National School Counseling Week has been ‘School Counselors – Helping Build Better Humans’.

The hope is to focus attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within the United States School Systems.

National School Counseling Week is sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week of February.

Students are encouraged to take on the 2020 NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK PHOTO CHALLENGE!!

Take a photo and/or video of a school counselor and share on Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram with the #NSCW2020!!

Get students, families and school colleagues in on the fun.

This writer wants to take a moment to remember the high school counselor that was both a mentor and a friend back in the day – Mr. Myron Jordan.
