MOUNDRIDGE – In a makeup game on Monday, the Inman boys’ basketball team took an early lead and used the cushion to gain a final 11-point, 51-40, victory over cross-county rival Moundridge in Moundridge.

The Teutons took an early 11-point, 16-5 advantage over the Wildcats at the end of the first quarter before adding a couple of more points to the lead at 27-14 going into the halftime break.

Moundridge roared back coming out of the break, outscoring Inman 14-5 to pull with four points at 32-28 at the end of the third quarter before the Teutons powered back into the lead and finished off their 11-point win.

“We have to play more than six minutes of good basketball against quality teams,” explained Moundridge Head Coach Vance Unrau during his post-game reflections. “Disappointed in our performance tonight, but have to look ahead as we enter the post-season.”

The Wildcats were lead by Korbin Unruh, the only player to reach double digits with 12 while Brady Helms came close with nine and Jonathon Schlosser chipped in with seven.

In his post-game reflections, Teuton Head Coach Brett Froese said, “Played great again tonight in the first half. Really proud of how we moved the ball and rebounded. Once again in the second half we came out tentative and let them right back in to the game. This game though we came back and closed it out in the fourth quarter. Super proud of how tough we were down the stretch! Great feeling to finish the game and win it instead of losing it.”

The Teutons had three players in double digits as Jace Doerksen had the game high with 15 while Kyler Konrade and Derick Johnson scored 12 and 10 points respectively thanks to each of them hitting a pair of three-pointers.
