MCPHERSON – The McPherson Police Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) have released an update to the investigation of a man found dead on Monday along Kelly Drive in McPherson.

According to the media memo released on Tuesday afternoon, the KBI and the McPherson Police Department have identified the body found as that being a 63-year old male, Kelly G. Peterson. Peterson lived at the residence where his body was found.

According to the media memo, the death is now being investigated as a homicide.

Both law enforcement agencies also noted that no threat exists to the public related to this incident.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be available at this time.
