INMAN – On Monday, the Inman girls’ basketball team passed their first test on the road they hope gets them to the Class 2A state basketball tournament by coming from behind in the second half to score a 45-40 victory over Ellsworth.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE LADY TEUTONS? With the victory the Lady Teutons are now 14-6 on the season and will now play Hutchinson Trinity on Thursday, March 5. Trinity is 12-8 for the season and beat Sedgwick on Monday, 44-24. The Inman girls lost to Trinity on February 14, 39-27.

THE GAME – Ellsworth held a three-point, 12-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter and still had a lead over the Lady Teutons going into the halftime break, 24-20.

Coming out of the break Inman outscored Ellsworth 11-7 in the third quarter to tie the game at 31-31 heading into the final eight minutes of regulation play where the Lady Teutons outscored Ellsworth again 14-9 to earn the five-point victory and a chance to continue their road to state.

THE TEAM – Lady Teuton senior Lauren Maurer led the team in scoring with 14 points while Ashtyn Schroeder and Dantlie Raney each chipped in with seven.
