MCPHERSON – The McPherson County Health Department has released a notification stating that we now have 17 total confirmed cases of coronavirus disease {COVID-19} within the McPherson County area.

The latest positive test case is identified as a female in her 50’s who is now recovering at home at this time. The case has a known exposure to a previously confirmed positive tested case.

Nothing more will be released about this patient at this time.

It is also noted that 10 of the total confirmed cases to this point in time have met recovery guidelines set forth by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. This is up from eight recoveries that were reported on Saturday.

Also mentioned is that two of the total confirmed positive cases are currently hospitalized, though nothing further about these cases will be released at this time.

McPherson County residents are encouraged to help the community and our health care system flatten the

curve and slow the spread of coronavirus.

  • Following the Stay-At-Home Order.
  • Be sure and properly cover up all coughs and sneezes.
  • Be sure and wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.
  • Always wear cloth face coverings or homemade masks when in public.
