INMAN – The Central Kansas Boese Lady Crushers 12U fastpitch softball team had a successful opening weekend of their 2020 season by going 3-0 and winning the 2020 Hutchinson Central Kansas Fastpitch League 12U Preseason Tournament at Fun Valley on Saturday, May 30.

GAME ONE – A 15-2 victory:

The 12U Lady Crushers demolished the Kingman Rebels 15-2 in pool play.

Ashlyn Schroeder pitched a complete game for the Lady Crushers, allowing just one hit while walking five and striking out three.

Thea Boese played catcher and recorded two put-out assists while also leading the team in hitting by going 2-for-2 with a walk and scoring three runs.

Both Anni Cram and Daynica Euwer had a hit while earning two walks. Cram also scored three runs while Euwer came across home twice.

GAME TWO – A 13-1 win:

In their second game of pool play, the 12U Lady Crushers once again dominated the game by scoring a convincing 13-1 win over the Hutchinson Hornets Grey team.

Katharine Engel took the hill for the Lady Crushers and pitched a complete game no-hitter while walking just two and striking out six.

Engel, Schroeder and Euwer all went 2-for-2 in the game with Engel and Schroeder also scoring twice each. Aidan Howard also scored twice as well.

GAME 3 – A 7-2 Championship Game victory:

In the tournament’s championship game, the Boese Lady Crushers had to battle the Central Kansas Quint Lady Crushers and scored a 7-2 victory and claim to the tournament title.

For the second time of the day, Ashlyn Schroeder pitched a complete game for the Boese Lady Crushers, allowing just two hits, walking one and striking out two.

Katharine Engel hit with power in the game, getting her second straight 2-for-2 game while smashing a home run and then hammering out a double while also scoring twice.

Thea Boese continued her solid day at the plate by getting a single and a walk while also scoring twice.
