CRUISE TO DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP!

HUTCHINSON – The Central Kansas 10U Crushers baseball team scored a doubleheader sweep of the Hutchinson Hornets on Tuesday at Fun Valley in Hutchinson.

The 10U Crushers won 4-3 in game one before scoring a dominating 8-1 victory in game two over the Hornets.

A summary, team and individual stats for each game:

GAME 1 – vs. Hutchinson Hornets, Tuesday, June 9:

In game one against the Hornets, the 10U Crushers scored a run in each inning, while D.C. Burns and Easton Diasio combined to throw a no-hitter in the 4-3 victory.

Hayden Gehring, Zander Zahradinik, Jayce Jennings and Jaxon Euwer got the only hits needed for the Crushers, while the team ran wild on the bases as they recorded nine stolen bases led by Tracer Wells, Jaxon Euwer and Jayce Jennings with two each.

D.C. Burns and Easton Diasio threw a no-hitter as they combined for 14 strikeouts and eight walks.

GAME 2 – vs. Hutchinson Hornets, Tuesday, June 9:

The Central Kansas 10U Crushers poured across six runs in the first inning and then added two more on their way to dominating 8-1 victory in game two over the Hutchinson Hornets.

The Crushers only needed four hits to get the big win as the Hornets committed three errors and walked seven batters while the Crushers once again ran wild on the base paths with 14 stolen bases led by Tracer Wells with three.

Bentley Konen went two innings on the mound for the 10U Crushers and allowed just one run on two hits while walking three and striking out five. Colton Gehring came in for the final inning and threw nine strikes on just 11 pitches while striking out the side to secure the victory.
