BROWN PITCHES FOUR COMPLETE GAMES!

WICHITA – The 16U Central Kansas Lady Crushers softball team spent the weekend playing five games at the Two Rivers Youth Softball Club in Wichita and game home with three wins and a pair of losses.

Complete game summaries as well as team and individual stats (thanks to game changer) are as follows:

GAME 1 – vs. Nemesis, Saturday, June 20:

In their first game of the weekend, the 16U Lady Crushers scored two runs in each of the first, third and fifth innings to gain a 6-3 victory over the Nemesis.

Olivia Cheatham and Mallory Seidel-Pinson each had two hits to lead the offense while Taryn Coon scored three times and stole two bases.

Emma Brown pitched all five innings for the Lady Crushers and while she gave up seven hits she only gave up two earned runs while striking out three.

GAME 2 – vs. Wichita KS Shockers, Saturday, June 20:

Emma Brown once again pitched a complete game on Saturday in game two for the 16U Lady Crushers as they nipped the Wichita Shockers 4-2.

Brown gave up just four hits and neither of the Shocker runs were eared while striking out three.

Kayleigh Amolia had two hits for the Lady Crushers.

GAME 3 – vs. Kansas Fury, Saturday, June 20:

Poor defense cost the 16U Lady Crushers in their final game on Saturday as they committed five errors which along with five walks by the pitching staff helped lead the Kansas Fury to a 14-0 shutout win over the Crushers.

Despite not scoring any runs, two of the team’s four hits were doubles by Kayleigh Amolia and Livia Swift.

Emma Brown went the first two innings on the mound and gave up five hits and nine runs, though only four were earned while walking three and striking out two. Livia Swift pitched the final inning and gave up two hits, just one earned run while walking two.

GAME 4 – vs. CG Fire, Sunday, June 21:

Emma Brown was on fire on the mound for the 16U Lady Crushers first game on Sunday as she threw a complete game, two-hit shutout in the teams 11-0 victory over the CG Fire. Brown only threw 32 pitches over four innings with 25 of those being strikes.

Olivia Cheatham, Kayleigh Amolia and Morgan Carson each had a pair of hits to lead the Lady Crushers offense.

GAME 5 – vs. Wichita KS Shockers, Sunday, June 21:

The 16U Lady Crushers stumbled in the final game of the weekend as they lost 7-2 in their second game of the weekend to the Wichita Shockers.

Kayleigh Amolia, Livia Swift, Kyler Smith and Emma Brown were the only Lady Crushers to get a hit, with Swift’s hit going for a double.

Brown was on the mound for the Lady Crushers and went all five innings, giving up 10 hits, seven runs of which six were earned, and one walk while striking out three.
