FRENCH PITCHES COMPLETE GAME!

MCPHERSON – The 14U Bullpups baseball team scored a doubleheader sweep of Hesston on Tuesday evening at Grant Complex in McPherson.

The Pups scored a 10-6 win in game one before closing out the sweep with a 12-6 victory in game two.

Game summaries as well as team and individual stats (thanks to game changer) is as follows:

GAME 1 – vs. Hesston, Tuesday, June 23:

In game one of the doubleheader, the 14U Bullpups needed just four hits to earn a 10-6 victory over Hesston as the Hesston pitching walked Bullpup batters 11 times while their defense committed two errors.

Blaise Hoover, Logan Meier, Alex Wheat and Carter Thul each had a base hit while Gavin Wasmuth walked three times and both Kale French and Cale Dahlstrom each walked twice. Wasmuth scored three times while Wheat came across twice.

Ryker Dossett and Logan Meier split time on the mound for the 14U Bullpups.

GAME 2 – vs. Hesston, Tuesday, June 23:

The 14U Bullpups made it a doubleheader sweep in game two with a 12-5 victory over Hesston after scoring once in the first, six times in the second, four more in the third and then one in the fourth. Hesston did hold a three-run lead after one inning as they pushed across four runs in the first and then another two in the third.

Kale French pitched a complete game, throwing 41 strikes out of 85 pitches, giving up just four hits, six walks, three earned runs and striking out four.

The Bullpups only needed five hits to score the win as Hesston committed five errors and their pitchers walked 10 batters.

Kaden Harold and Logan Meier each hit triples while Joey Miller walked three times and Gavin Wasmuth walked twice. Both Cale Dahlstrom and Owen Fetsch each stole a pair of bases.
