KROL GETS SIX EXTRA-BASE HITS

The 18U Lady Crushers softball team was busy over the weekend, playing four games each on Saturday and Sunday and finishing with seven wins and one loss.

Game summaries plus team and individual stats from game changer are as follows:

GAME 1 – vs. CG Fire, Saturday, June 27:

The 18U Lady Crushers got their weekend off to an explosive start with a 15-hit, 16-1 dismantling of the CG Fire.

Hailey Henson and Hope Wehrman led the offense with three hits each while Haley Miller and Erin Durst each had a pair of hits. Durst and Teegan Krol hit for doubles while Cayl Lindbloom had a triple.

Hailey Henson and Zizi Sebrant combined to hold the Fire to just three hits and one run.

GAME 2 – vs. 16U Lady Crushers, Saturday, June 27:

In game two on Saturday, the 18U Lady Crushers battled the 16U Lady Crushers and put three runs across in the first inning before holding on after a two run fourth by the 16U Lady Crushers to get the 4-3 victory.

Erin Durst was the lone Lady Crushers to get more than one hit and she had two with one being a double. Cayl Lindbloom also hit for a double while Haley Miller swiped two of the team’s four stolen bases.

Emma Willison went all four innings on the mound, giving up just three runs on three hits while striking out three.

GAME 3 – vs. 16U Blues, Saturday, June 27:

A 14-run first inning followed by a six run second inning gave the Lady Crushers quick work of the 16U Blues in game three on Saturday as they scored a 20-0 two-inning shutout victory.

Powered by 12 hits and helped by six walks and five Blues errors on defense the Crushers had a big day on offense, led by Teegan Krol who had two hits, scored twice, hit a double and knocked across six runs. Haley Miller, Hailey Henson, Erin Durst and Hope Wehrman also each had a pair of hits, with Henson and Miller getting doubles and Wehrman stealing three of the team’s seven stolen bases. Zizi Sebrant hit for a triple.

Zizi Sebrant pitched the two innings for the 18U Lady Crushers and threw only 14 pitches of which 12 were strikes, giving up just one hit and striking out a pair.

GAME 4 – vs. Summer Mudkatz, Saturday, June 27:

The final game on Saturday proved to be frustrating for the 18U Lady Crushers as they scored twice in the first, once in the second and two more in the fourth only to lose 6-5 when the Summer Mudkatz scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to get the win. The Mudkatz had scored once in both the first and second innings and then added two in the third.

Haley Miller was the lone Lady Crusher to get two hits as the team only had four for the game. Miller also stole three of the team five stolen bases.

Emma Willison went the distance on the mound, giving up five hits, the six runs of which only one was earned.

GAME 5 – vs. Optimist Monarchs, Sunday, June 28:

The 18U Lady Crushers opened play on Sunday with a decisive 8-2 victory over the Optimist Monarchs. The Lady Crushers scored twice in the first and then three times in each of the third and fourth innings.

While Hailey Henson led the team with three hits, Teegan Krol knocked across five runs with two hits, one of which was a double. Keira Sebrant hit a triple and both Henson and Cayl Lindbloom each stole a pair of bases.

Emma Willison pitched all four innings, throwing 34 strikes on just 55 pitches while holding the Monarchs to just four hits and two runs, of which neither were earned, while walking two and striking out two.

GAME 6 – vs. A-Shock, Sunday, June 28:

The offense stayed hot in the second game on Sunday as the 18U Lady Crushers hammered the A-Shock 13-0.

Hailey Henson was the lone Lady Crusher with two hits as the team only needed seven hits for the win as the A-Shock walked six and committed two errors. Calissa Brown hit for a triple and Emma Willison stole three bases while Hope Wehrman stole a pair.

Henson went three innings on the mound and held the A-Shock to just one hit while striking out three and walking none before Cayl Lindbloom came in and covered the final inning, throwing 10 strikes on just 11 pitches.

GAME 7 – vs. 18U Blues, Sunday, June 28:

Once again the 18U Lady Crushers made use of six walks and three errors by the 18U Blues to score a big 15-1 victory in game three on Sunday. 12 of the team’s 15 runs came in the second inning.

Both of Teegan Krol’s hits went for doubles while Erin Durst also had two hits, with those being a double and a triple. Keira Sebrant also hit for a double while Calissa Brown had a pair of stolen bases.

Zizi Sebrant pitched a complete game for the Lady Crushers and allowed just four hits while walking just one and striking out three.

GAME 8 – vs. Salina Pink Panthers, Sunday, June 28:

The 18U Lady Crushers closed out their busy weekend on Sunday with a 12-4 hammering of the Salina Pink Panthers. The Lady Crushers pushed across two in the first before pouring across seven in the second and another three in the third for the win.

Cayl Lindbloom, Haley Miller and Teegan Krol each had a pair of hits in the team’s 11 hit attack with Miller hitting for a double, Zizi Sebrant getting a triple and Krol pounding out a home run.

Emma Willison closed out a strong day with a three-inning complete game in which she allowed five hits, four runs and one walk while striking out one.
