WICHITA – It was a busy weekend for the Central Kansas 16U Lady Crusher softball team as the played a total of five games over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Two Rivers Youth Softball Club complex in Wichita.

The Lady Crushers won two over the Sluggers and the Legends Elite, and tied one with the G2 Heat in their first three games before closing out the three days of play with back-to-back losses to the Kansas Fury and the Kansas Heat Wave.

Game summaries plus game changer team and individual stats are as follows:

GAME 1 – vs. Sluggers, Friday, July 10 at Two Rivers Youth Softball Club in Wichita:

Game one for the weekend for the 16U Lady Crushers came on Friday and they scored a 4-1 victory over the Sluggers.

Karter Alvord, Kylar Smith, Kayleigh Arriola, Livia Swift, and Emma Brown each had hits for the Lady Crushers.

Brown went the full five innings on the mound and held the Sluggers to just one run on four hits while walking just one and striking out five.

GAME 2 – vs. G2 Heat, Saturday, July 11 at Two Rivers Youth Softball Club in Wichita:

In their first game on Saturday, the 16U Lady Crushers scored three times in the first inning before giving up five to the G2 Heat and then added two in the third as the two teams played to a 5-5 tie.

Six Lady Crushers had hits in the game with Kailyn Olsen scoring twice as the team had to work hard to overcome five defensive errors.

Kailyn Olsen and Emma Brown each took turns on the mound for the Lady Crushers and struck out a total of six.

GAME 3 – vs. 16U Legends Elite, Saturday, July 11 at Two Rivers Youth Softball Club in Wichita:

In their middle game on Saturday, the 16U Lady Crushers scored one run in each of the first three innings and held on for a 3-1 victory over the 16U Legends Elite.

Kylar Smith and Livia Swift had the only two hits of the game for the Lady Crushers with Swifts being a triple.

Emma Brown went the distance on the mound and held the Elite to just one hit and two walks while striking out three.

GAME 4 – vs. 16U Kansas Fury, Saturday, July 11 at Two Rivers Youth Softball Club in Wichita:

In their final game on Saturday, the 16U Lady Crushers gave up a run in the bottom of the fifth that broke a 4-4 tie and gave the Kansas Fury a 5-4 victory.

Kylar Smith led the Lady Crushers with two hits, while Taryn Coon and Livia Swift each made their single hits count by hitting for doubles.

Kailyn Olsen and Emma Brown did the pitching and gave up eight hits, three earned runs and walked three while striking out three.

GAME 5 – vs. Kansas Heat Wave, Sunday, July 12 at Two Rivers Youth Softball Club in Wichita:

In the final game of the weekend, the 16U Lady Crushers came up with five runs in the first inning after giving up seven to the Kansas Heat Wave and then added one run in the fourth, but failed in the end and lost 8-6.

Kylar Smith and Kailyn Olsen each had a pair of hits as the Lady Crushers clipped the Heat Wave pitchers for 10 hits in the game, but then the Lady Crushers defense made four errors on defense.

Kailyn Olsen started the game for the Lady Crushers and gave up five earned runs on just four hits before Emma Brown came in to finish out the game as the two gave up five walks while only striking out one.
