WHAT SPECTATORS WILL NEED TO DO OR KNOW

MCPHERSON – Earlier this week, McPherson USD 418 Activities/Athletic Director Shane Backhus released a statement with the USD 418 Guidelines for Spectators attending Events this 2020-21 school year.

Among the items covered, the Guidelines for Event Spectators at USD 418 Events says:

  • Spectators will be limited to 2 per event participant with a maximum of 25% venue capacity.
  • Each event participant will get an event specific wristband that they will be responsible to distribute to their two spectators.
  • All Spectators must wear the EVENT SPECIFIC wristband on their wrist in order to purchase their ticket at the event and enter the venue, wristbands must be worn during the event.
  • ALL PASSES will be suspended until spectator restrictions are lifted. This includes Staff ID, Senior Citizens, Complimentary, and League Passes.
  • Spectators will be expected to wear masks at all events.
  • Spectators should sit as family units, while keeping social distance.
  • Spectators will not be allowed near participant groups, or on fields/courts.
  • Only essential personnel will be allowed near participant groups.
  • Depending on capacity limits, a limited number of student spectator wristbands will be available for students who have purchased an activity ticket. These will be distributed through the activities office.
  • All these spectator guidelines are subject to change based on local conditions.

USD 418 will release more information if these guidelines change.
