GOESSEL – The Canton/Galva volleyball team headed to Goessel on Tuesday for a quad with Little River and Peabody/Burns and returned home with a split for the night as they defeated Peabody/Burns but lost to Little River.

In the match with Peabody/Burns, the Lady Eagles scored a straight set victory with both matches tight to the end, winning 25-19, 25-22.

Against Little River, Canton/Galva fought hard in all three sets, losing the first set by just four points at 21-25, winning the second set 25-19 and then losing the third set 14-25.

Lady Eagle Head Coach Cloe Hedlund reflected on the split of matches by saying, “We continue to improve at matches and in practice. When we play as a team, we are doing a lot of things right. I was impressed by our serving and overall fight tonight. We have worked hard all week on passing and that showed tonight when we got to set the ball up and run some offense. We are immensely proud with these ladies and their effort; we look forward to continuing to get better through the season.”

The Lady Eagles will be back in Goessel for the Goessel Invitational on Saturday, September 12.
