GOESSEL – The Canton/Galva volleyball team made a short trip to Goessel on Tuesday and came home with a split in a pair of matches with host Goessel and Wichita Classical.

In the match with host Goessel, the Lady Eagles lost in straight sets 13-25, 7-25.

Bouncing back against Wichita Classical, Canton/Galva dominated in straight sets by winning 25-11, 25-7.

“We played a very good Goessel team,” noted Lady Eagle Head Coach Cloe Hedlund. “They had some solid hitters and served well at us. We struggled to set our offense up in that game though our serve receive passing did get better as the match went on. In the end, we really needed to work together better as a team.”

Coach Hedlund concluded her post triangular reflections by saying, “As far as the Wichita Classical match went, I was proud of the team for playing their game. They played as a team and it paid off. We served well and set up our offense well during that match. It was good to end the day with a win as we have lots more matches to play this week.”

Up next for the Lady Eagles will be on the road on Thursday at Elyria Christian.
