HOST 4-TEAM INVITATIONAL ON SATURDAY

On Saturday the Canton/Galva volleyball team went 1-1 at the Herington Tournament.

In their first match of the day, the Lady Eagles scored a three-set victory over Sunrise Christian Academy (25-18, 22-25, 25-18) before losing in their second match of the day (8-25, 16-25) to Rural Vista.

“We played well the first match against Sunrise Christian,” noted Lady Eagle Head Coach Cloe Hedlund in her post tournament reflections. “But we still struggled to set up our offense effectively for most of the match. The second match with Rural Vista, we were on defense most of the match so had to adjust quite a bit. Rural Vista had some great hitters, so we will have to improve our defense before we play again.”

On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles played host to Rural Vista and Goessel, losing to both in straight sets.

Against Goessel, Canton/Galva lost 16-25, 17-25, before losing in straight sets to Rural Vista, 13-25, 11-25.

Coming up on Saturday, the Lady Eagles will host the Canton/Galva Volleyball Invitational with Solomon, Wichita Homeschool and Sunrise Christian Academy participating.
