LINDSBORG – The Smoky Valley volleyball team continues to roll in 2020 as they won their 18th and 19th matches of the season on Tuesday by defeating Southeast of Saline and Halstead.

Against Southeast of Saline, the Lady Vikings were challenged in the first set but still managed to take a straight set victory 25-22, 25-15.

Halstead took the Smoky Valley spikers to three sets in the second match before the Lady Vikings won (25-19, 22-25, 25-13).

“It was nice to be tested tonight against Halstead,” noted Lady Viking Head Coach Sharlene Ramsey in her brief post-match reflections. “We have only played a three-set match twice this season. I was so proud of the girls for rallying on the third set to win with confidence.”

The Smoky Valley junior varsity volleyball team also scored a clean sweep over Southeast of Saline and Halstead.

Next up for the Lady Viking volleyball team will be a triangular on Thursday with Central Plains and Ellsworth.
