BEAT PEABODY/BURNS, LOSES TO LITTLE RIVER

LITTLE RIVER – The Elyria Christian volleyball team scored a split of matches on Tuesday on the road at Little River.

Against Peabody, the Lady Eagles went three sets before scoring a victory (25-10, 21-25, 25-10). Elyria Christian was led by Kilynn Starburg with nine kills and three blocks, while Ryland Hawkinson also scored nine kills while also getting 12 digs.

In the second match they lost a straight set battle with host Little River (20-25, 12-25). Despite the loss, Ryland Hawkinson recorded 14 digs, Kylee Penner had 10 digs and five kills while Kilynn Starburg finished with seven kills and three blocks.

For the Elyria Christian junior varsity the Lady Eagles won in straight sets over Peabody (26-24, 25-14) before losing in straight sets to Little River (15-25, 12-25).

Against Peabody, Kenna Cass had 10 digs and a pair of aces to lead the junior varsity Lady Eagles. Jory Glendening scored four aces.

In the junior varsity loss to Little River, Elyria Christian was led by Glendening, Cass and Macy Reiff who each recorded six digs while Reiff also had three kills.
