TRAFFIC DIRECTIONS FOR MCPHERSON’S ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER

Traffic Stop Tuesday Postings are presented by the McPherson Police Department.

This Tuesday, November 24, they are talking about ‘ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER’.

The time has arrived for the 25th ANNUAL MCPHERSON COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER!!

Since 1995, McPherson Community Thanksgiving Inc. has served FREE THANKSGIVING meals to the people of the McPherson Community.

This year the process of serving the meals will be different than previous years.

Due to the COVID-19 PANDEMIC, this year’s meals will be served only by drive-thru style.

MEAL SERVICE will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Those wanting to receive a FREE MEAL are asked to enter the parking lot of Journey Church (formerly the downtown Dillons) in the 200 block of E. Euclid Street.

Both Euclid Street and Marlin Street will be closed during the Thanksgiving Meal pickup times from Main Street to Elm Street.

These streets will be blocked off during the event so that the traffic flow on Ash Street will only move in a southward direction from the railroad tracks to Kansas Avenue.

This will flow traffic toward the McPherson Community Building where the distribution area will be on the east side of the Community Building just past Marlin Street.

The distribution area is where you will receive the meals without having to leave your vehicle.

Here is a map of the downtown area for the afternoon of Thanksgiving Day:

Please Drive Safe, Be Aware and most of all – have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING.
