DOERKSEN, JOHNSON TO LEAD TEUTON BOYS

By William

INMAN – After a great football season, the Inman Teutons are now changing gears and getting ready for the 2020-21 basketball season where the boys Head Coach, Brett Froese, is hoping that the positive momentum of playing the way they did on the football field can carry over onto the hardwood and the basketball season.

After finishing 14-8 last season, the Teutons closed out with a loss in the state sub-state semifinals.

Returning a couple of all-league honorees in junior Jace Doerksen and senior Derick Johnson, Coach Froese has a nucleus to build a good team around when you add in the return of players like Kyler Konrade, Kendyn Blank, Eli Brunk and Mason Carter who all play with model consistency.

One player that the Teuton coaches have talked about is incoming freshman point guard Tanner Heckel, who they are hoping will take the successes he found on the football field into the basketball arena.

Picked to finish fourth in the league this season, the Teutons will be tested early and often as they open with a road trip to Minneapolis, then play three games in four days as part of the Moundridge Pre-Season Tournament before taking another road trip to always tough Sterling.

Here is a season preview of the 2020-21 Inman Teutons:
