It was a night of offense that coaches never hope to see, but the Moundridge boys basketball team did see it happen as they shot just 21% from the field in a 17-point, 45-28, loss to Inman on Thursday in the Moundridge Preseason Tournament.

Only trailing by two at 8-6 at the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats just could not muster a solid, consistent offense and trailed by seven at the half only to see the Teutons blister their defense for 27 points in the second half to gain the 17-point, 45-28 victory.

As Wildcat Head Coach Vance Unrau explained in his brief post-game reflections, “You are not going to win many games shooting just 21%. Inman played better in every phase of the game tonight, but we will get better.”

Landon Kaufman led the Wildcats in scoring with 14 points while Logan Churchill chipped in with five points and led the team in rebounds with seven while also recording a pair of blocked shots. Corbin Unruh led the defense with four steals.

The Moundridge Wildcats will not look to bounce back on Friday when they close out the Moundridge Preseason Tournament with a battle against Lyons.
