LITTLE RIVER – After giving up too many points in the first half, the Little River girls basketball team completely shut down visiting Central Christian in the second half to gain a seven-point, 40-33 victory on Friday.

After trailing 12-5 at the end of the first quarter and then 26-20 at the halftime break, the Lady Redskins closed the doors on the Central Christian offense in the second half by allowing them just seven total points in two quarters of play while they put 20 points on the board to earn the final seven-point win.

While Alaina Eck may have led Little River in scoring with 13 points, it was Lily Boughfman who dominated the game overall as she put eight points in the scorebook while dishing out a pair of assists and dominating in the paint with eight rebounds, three steals and five blocked shots. Aubrey Olander also helped on the boards by gathering four rebounds and blocking three shots of her own while scoring six points. MeKenzie Renken also chipped in with seven points.

The win puts the Lady Redskins in the title game of the Goessel Bluebird Classic on Saturday against the Elyria Christian Lady Eagles.
