PELNAR GETS 2ND, PEARSON, LANDRUM PLACE 3RD

ABILENE – Coach Doug Kretzer took his young Bullpup wrestling team to Abilene on Saturday and finished seventh as a team while getting one second place individual placing and two third places.

McPherson only scored 66 team points which placed them seventh out of eight teams. Pratt ran away with the team title as they scored 151 points while Scott City finished second with 126, host Abilene placed third with 116 and Silver Lake rounded out the top four with an even 100 points.

For the Bullpups, Treyton Pelnar was the top finisher as he went 3-1 for the meet and placed second at 120 pounds.

Both Collin Pearson and Curtis Landrum finished 3-1 on their day at 138 and 195 to place third in their divisions.

Lorenzo Cruzen at 126 was the only other top four placer for the day by the Bullpups.

The McPherson wrestlers will now have an extended break for the holidays before returning to the competitive mat on Thursday, January 7 when they travel to Hutchinson for a triangular with the Salt Hawks and Goddard Eisenhower.

285 lbs. = Conner McVicker finished 1-4 and placed 5th.
