By William

WAKEFIELD – The Little River boys basketball team showed little rust from the lengthy holiday break as they remained unbeaten at 6-0 on Friday when they went on the road and pounded Wakefield for a 62-33 win.

Running out to a 22-4 lead by the end of the first quarter, the Redskins kept the foot to the pedal and added 23 points in the second quarter on their way to a whopping 45-13 halftime advantage before cruising through the second half to earn the 29-point victory.

It was a tight defense by Little River that forced Wakefield into 30 turnovers as the Redskins stole 20 passes during the game.

Jayden Garrison once again had a brilliant game by putting 28 points in the scorebook which include four three-pointers. Garrison also led the team in rebounds with five had one blocked shot and tied with Trey Rolfs and Graham Stephens for the team high in steals with four.

Eight different Redskins put points by their name in the scorebook while seven recorded at least one steal.

Little River will look to stay unbeaten on Tuesday, January 12 when they play host to Peabody/Burns.
