CANTON – The Canton/Galva girls basketball team finally found success on Monday as they scored a tight, hard fought three-point, 38-35 home court win over Burrton for their first victory of the 2020-21 season.

Only five Lady Eagles scored in the game, led by Mimi Craig with 10 points while Sage Toews, Brecken Pearson, and Alexa Bell all chipped in with eight and Emily Peterson scored four.

Peterson led Canton/Galva in the paint by pulling down 10 rebounds, while three others grabbed three carroms.

Alexa Bell led the Lady Eagles on defense with four steals as the team recorded 12 steals total for the game.

The Canton/Galva girls, now 1-5 for the season, have a busy week as they will play at Elyria Christian on Tuesday and then host Goessel on Friday.
