GARRISON, ROLFS, LAFFERTY LEAD LITTLE RIVER

By William

SALINA – Despite playing their second game in two days, the Little River boys continued to remain unbeaten by shaking off a sluggish start and scoring an eight-point, 59-51 victory on the road Saturday at Salina Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart jumped out to a nine-point, 20-11 lead by the end of the first quarter before the Redskins got their offense powered up to score 21 points in the second quarter while the defense held the host team to just five, giving Little River a seven-point, 32-25 advantage heading into the halftime break.

The final two quarters saw both teams play fairly even ball as the Redskins held on to earn the final eight-point margin of a win.

Jayden Garrison led Little River with 24 points while also dishing out a pair of assists, grabbing seven rebounds, blocking a shot and making four steals.

Joining Garrison in double digits in scoring were Trey Rolfs and Braxton Lafferty as they chipped in with 13 and 12 points respectively. Rylan Konen and Lafferty helped out in the paint by pulling down seven and five rebounds each.

Now 9-0 for the season, Little River now preps for the Burrton Tournament next week with their first game being on Tuesday when they play Central Christian.
